FAQs
General FAQ's
What is Brakkt?
Brakkt is a live tournament command center. We replace paper sheets with real-time brackets, side pots, and score tracking.
Does Brakkt handle money?
No. Brakkt does not process payments. All entry fees and payouts are handled directly by the Tournament Director (Cash, Venmo, etc.). The app tracks who has paid.
What does "BOOSTED" mean?
If you see a "BOOSTED" tag, get in that pot! It means a sponsor (or us!) has added extra money to the prize fund. It is free for you, but the payouts are bigger.
Bowlers FAQ's
How do I enter side pots?
Join the event and select your entries (Brackets, Eliminator, High Game). Your status will show as "Pending" until you pay the Director. Once they mark you as paid, you are in!
Can I enter my own scores?
Yes! Enter your scores as soon as you finish bowling. They display as "PENDING" until the Director verifies them. This keeps the leaderboards moving fast.
How do I know if I made the cut?
Check the "Eliminator" tab. The cut line moves in real-time as scores are entered, so you always know exactly what score you need to beat.
When can I see my bracket?
Brackets are randomized and generated by the Director right before competition starts. You will see them appear in the app instantly.
Directors FAQ's
How do I run an event?
You are the Command Center. You set the rules (Scratch, Handicap, Prices) and collect the money. Brakkt handles the heavy lifting—generating matches, moving cut lines, and calculating winners.
How do I handle entries?
As bowlers sign up, they appear in your queue. Once you collect their entry fee, tap "Mark Paid" to officially enter them into the side pots.
How does score verification work?
Bowlers can input scores to keep things moving, but you have final say. You will see a list of "Pending Scores" to approve or edit before they become official.
What side pots can I run?
You can fully customize options for Scratch Brackets, Handicap Brackets, Eliminators, and High Game pots, including setting your own price points for each.
